How many of you thought that Presidents Day was a federal holiday? Me too, until I started researching for today’s post. Some people think the 3rd Monday in February is set aside to honor all presidents. Personally, I’d always assumed it was a combo day to celebrate George & Abe’s birthdays. As it turns out, it’s neither. The federal holiday observed on the third Monday of February is officially known as George Washington’s Birthday. And while there has never been a federal holiday honoring Abraham Lincoln, he does get his own day in some states.
But no matter what you call the upcoming holiday, this long weekend is still a great time to try your hand at freezer paper stenciling with Abe and George. If you need inspiration, information, or a stencil pattern, visit the links below!
