Tammi Latham
Matilda Jane Originals
West Palm Beach, FL
Tammi Latham has been painting professionally since 1995. Her work has been featured in several magazines including Faux Finisher, Artistic Stenciler and American Paint Contractor and she was a contributing designer for Debbie Mumm's Creative Stenciling. Working in the greater South Florida area, she specializes in faux finishes and mural painting. Tammi also recycles scuba diving tanks that do not pass inspection by converting them into lamps painted with underwater scenes.
Tammi was a medical transcriptionist for 15+ years before deciding to pursue her love of painting. She says her business just sort of happened. "I took some classes and then started doing work for friends who then referred me to their friends, etc."
Tammi often finds ways to incorporate stencils into her art. "When doing mural work I use stencils as elements in the artwork. When doing faux finishes I sometimes use 3D stencils when using plasters."
When working with a client, Tammi feels that good communication is essential. "I really try to get to know my clients likes and dislikes. The key is really listening to what your client is trying to tell you, not just what you want to hear about a finish that YOU want to put in their home or business."

Mirror Makeover
I have been doing a little experimenting with techniques on glass and mirrors and thought I might as well start with mirrors and glass in my own home. This is a mirror I've had for several years. I found it in a yard sale. The glass is not in the best shape and the frame is missing some [...]
