Stenciling With Modellos

Sometimes it is just easier to use a Modello™ for a stenciling project than a stencil. If you are not familiar with Modellos™, they are one time use stencils that can be custom ordered to the size you need. To learn more about them, visit Melanie Royal's website.

Susan Siefer of MadPatter Productions recently had a job where she felt it was more efficient to use Modellos™. Since she knew she would be troweling product through the stencil it just made more sense to order the number of repeats she needed, vs. having to constantly stop and wash her stencil to be able to continue.

In this small foyer, Susan used a combination of small motifs and borders.

All motifs and borders are troweled with Lusterstone and Palette Deco. Hand painted black veining on leaves.

This border is over the door the leads to the Dining Room.foyer3

This project is so nice (so like that burnt red) — and definitely Modellos are better to use sometimes than stencils. I’m happy we have both to choose from for our projects.
