I am looking for Andreae's stencils of Southwestern pottery #871, #872, #873. I have been to their website, and these stencils are not on the site, so I imagine they have been discontinued.

Janelle,

There were two companies/websites that sold Andreae stencil designs, but I have had several reports from people who have been unable to contact anyone at either of these, so both have been removed from our stencil search engine. The pots you're looking for are are still listed on one of these sites, here: http://www.kaleidoscopeofcrafts.com/southwest2.htm

Dear Sharman,

I do appreciate your sharing passion for Althea Wilson's dragon stencil motif with me. Yes, it s always been my best loved dragon design ever.  I've just followed your idea for a few days, by enlarging it with a photocopying machine. I guess I will make it fourfold.  That is to say it will be around 2 m long, half of the original size on the wall of the dragon room of Althea Wilson, whose style is like no others'.  That s why I admire her uniqueness.

For the waves motif, I have got to complete it a great deal, as the furniture blocks the total view of it.  I've been now trying to draw the supplementary part on my own.  Even though it might not completely comply with Althea Wilson's style, I will have no other choice but use it.

Thanks once again for sharing your ideas with me.

I just joined this forum and saw the post about Althea Wilson's dragon stencil. I tried to contact her about that stencil 12-14 years ago without any success. So I pieced together the dragon from the pages out of her book, as well as the waves and Chinese clouds. Then I enlarged it on kinko's blueprint machine  modified a few areas and spent hours cutting it out. It ended up about 8 ft. long and the dragon wrapped around the wall with the waves at the bottom and clouds here and there. It is my most favorite dragon! The work was done on my Chinese accountant's wall in gold. He love's it. I remember having to eliminate one of the claws from the feet. There is something about 4 claws vs. 5 claws that is significant in Chinese symbolism.

I m looking for any big format motif of Chinoiserie waves to match with a 1.20 m Chinese dragon to be stencilled on the wall of my living room.  Can anyone give me any ideas where to find it?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Thanks a lot for your advice.  Anyway, i've already got that book "projection stenciling", the dragon motif in which seems more suitable for a child room, not for a livining room.  I d prefer the orientalist look or chinoiserie style.  Even in the Stencil Library, there is none that corresponds to my search.

I ve just contacted Althea Wilson - the authoer of ULTIMATE STENCIL - to be informed how I can get the entire dragon stencil motif painted on her wall showed in her book.

I'm not familiar with that particular book.  There is a dragon in Projection Stenciling<img src="https://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=stencils-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />, the book by Leslie Bird & Linda Buckingham.  I've attached a copy of the dragon I painted using the pattern from their book.

Even if this dragon won't work for you, projection stenciling would be an ideal method for creating a large stencil design if you can find a picture of the style of dragon you'd like to use.
