HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have searched the internet all day today and STILL can't find the answer to my questions.   I am wanting to repaint a bedroom that has previously had a little girls theme to it.  The previous owner painted their daughters room a pale yellow and then painted a border with designs all around the top of the ceiling.  I want to keep the same pale yellow color but without the painted border.  PLEASE, tell me what and how to get rid of it WITHOUT having to paint the entire room.  I think the room was painted in and around 2003.   Thanx,   debm

debm,

If it is a painted border, the only way I know to remove it is to paint over it, and unless you have some of the original paint handy, I don't see how you'll ever be able to get a perfect match to paint over just the border.

The only other thing I can think of would be to paint over the border with a border of your own -- pick a coordinating color or try to match the ceiling, and do a solid stripe all the way around.  You could even add your own stenciling on it.  I'm thinking of something like the room pictured in this averagetoart post.

Good luck!
