This is my first time on the Board.

We are taking a long holiday and a good part of it is by air. As such,  I want to put some stencils on our suitcases so we don't have any problems identifying them  at airport terminals.

Specifically, must you use a specific type of paint(don't want it wash off or come off because they get wet.)? Has anyone had problems with the paint seeping thru the fabric?

Any information or help would be most appreciated.

Thanks

birty,

I used regular acrylic craft paints on the suitcases I've stenciled.  Two of them are pictured in the right hand photo on this page:  Stenciled Suitcases

The paint did not seep through, but the suitcases did seem to "suck in" a lot of paint, so it took a bit longer than usual to get the coverage I wanted.  The stenciling on those two bags has held up very well over the past few years, but they've not been through an airport -- only car trips to grandma's house and assorted sleepovers.
